Dizzee Rascal, Tony Allen, the London Sinfonietta, Jonny Greenwood and Matmos are among artists confirmed for the South Bank Centre?s fourth annual ETHER festival in March 2005, celebrating the work of artists opening up new worlds of live performance through experiments with new technologies. The complete festival line-up will be announced soon.

For his RFH concert, he is supported by legendary Nigerian drummer, Tony Allen, renowned for fusing the electronic into Africa-beat. As well as being a highlight of ETHER, the concert is also part of the South Bank Centre?s AFRICA REMIX festival.

Following the success of its sold-out concerts for the last two ETHER festivals, the London Sinfonietta returns for two evenings of experimentation, collaboration and cross-genre juxtaposition on 27 and 28 March 2005. The concerts include traditional Arabic song, new music from Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood and Thom Yorke, plus pieces by pioneering classical composers Ligeti, Penderecki and Messiaen, chosen by Greenwood as music which has inspired him and Radiohead.

Radiohead Television will also be screened throughout the night, featuring video, animations and music from the band?s Hail to the Thief as well as unreleased tracks.

Experimentalist duo Matmos also appear for a very special performance as part of ETHER on 19 March, having spent nine years at the vanguard of sonic experiments, utilising sound sources as diverse as amplified crayfish, rat cages, life support systems and a 5 gallon bucket of oatmeal.
